High friction surface treatment (HFST) is an emerging surface application/technology that has been proven to reduce crashes and related injuries and fatalities. It also helps motorists maintain better control in both dry and wet driving conditions. The Maricopa County Department of Transportation used HSIP (Highway Safety Improvement Program) funding at two locations in Maricopa County to implement this technology as part of a project that was successfully completed in December 2019.
This webinar will be presented by Mazen Muradvich at MCDOT, Jeff King at FHWA and Captain Joseph Ritchie DPS.
