Join us for an overview and discussion of RTA projects throughout Pima County with an emphasis on the upcoming RTA Next plan and funding source on the ballot in March 2026. 

Steve Huffman Bio

Steve Huffman is a native Arizonan and has lived in Tucson for over 40 years.  He is a graduate of Canyon Del Oro High School and the University of Arizona with a degree in Political Science.  Steve works for the Pima County Regional Transportation Authority and the Pima Association of Governments as a Community Affairs Administrator.  He previously worked in government affairs positions for the Town of Marana, the Tucson Association of REALTORS and Cox Communications.

Steve served for four years in the United States Naval Reserves and is an Eagle Scout.  He also served eight years as a State Representative in the Arizona House of Representatives from 1998 to 2006.  During that time he served as Chair of the Environment Committee and the Ways and Means Committee. His district included Oro Valley, Marana, Tucson and northwest Pima County. Steve is active in the community and serves in several community organizations. He has two sons that are both attending the University of Arizona.

Rick Ellis, P.E. Bio

Rick attended the University of Arizona and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering in 1991.  He then started his career in Seattle Washington, with the Washington State Department of Transportation, where he worked for approximately 12 years, in a variety of design, construction, project and office management positions.

Rick returned to Tucson, AZ in 2003, where he worked with Pima County Department of Transportation for approximately 15 years in engineering and project delivery, and now currently works with the Pima Association of Governments (PAG) as Director of Transportation Services.
