Transportation Projects Coordinator
The City of Mesa is seeking a Transportation Projects Coordinator to support the implementation and oversight of the City’s Transportation Capital Program. This position monitors transportation capital projects, reviews project data and monthly progress reports for accuracy and completeness, and ensures project information is maintained in accordance with program requirements.
Responsibilities include identifying and communicating potential project issues to management, assisting with problem resolution, monitoring funding risks related to federal, state, regional, and local resources, and coordinating with Transportation, Engineering, and external government agencies. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to review complex project information, identify trends or concerns, and provide recommendations that support successful delivery of transportation initiatives.

Supervising Engineer
The City of Mesa is seeking a Supervising Engineer to lead and oversee professional engineering staff within the Transportation Department. This position serves as the City’s technical expert and representative on a wide range of transportation engineering initiatives, including transportation capital improvement projects, bicycle and pedestrian programs, and transportation planning efforts.
Responsibilities include supervising engineers, planners, and technical staff; directing, reviewing, and evaluating professional-level engineering work; conducting performance reviews; and providing guidance on complex engineering design, construction, and project delivery activities. The Supervising Engineer applies extensive knowledge of traffic engineering principles, exercises independent judgment in making critical technical and supervisory decisions, and collaborates with internal teams, agencies, and stakeholders to advance safe, effective, and innovative transportation solutions.

Transportation Engineer / Senior Transportation Engineer
The City of Mesa is seeking a Transportation Engineer or Senior Transportation Engineer to perform professional transportation engineering work within the Transportation Department. Assignments may include Transportation Planning, Traffic Studies, traffic operations, or advanced engineering projects requiring independent judgment and technical expertise.
Responsibilities may include reviewing development and roadway construction plans for compliance with City standards; conducting traffic engineering studies; analyzing transportation data and accident statistics; supporting roadway, corridor, freeway, bicycle, and pedestrian projects; developing traffic safety initiatives; managing traffic control, barricade, and traffic counting contracts; preparing and reviewing signing, striping, signal, and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) plans; and providing technical guidance to City departments, agencies, consultants, contractors, and the public.
The Senior Transportation Engineer performs complex engineering assignments, serves as a technical expert, develops policies and design standards, and may direct the work of professional and technical staff. Successful candidates will apply strong analytical skills, professional judgment, and innovative solutions to support safe, efficient, and sustainable transportation systems.
