Congratulations to Omar Venzor on being named the 2026 Transportation Professional of the Year—a well-deserved recognition of his dedication, leadership, and technical excellence. Omar is a transportation professional experienced in managing roadway and traffic engineering projects, leading multidisciplinary teams, and supporting public agency clients. His expertise includes traffic signal design, lighting, corridor analysis, safety and capacity analysis, ITS, signal timing, and traffic control planning. He lives in Highlands Ranch with his wife, Elizabeth, their son Luca, and two Bernese Mountain Dogs. Outside of work, Omar enjoys running and has completed over 30 marathons, including six Boston Marathons This award is a testament not only to Omar’s technical accomplishments but also to his commitment to engagement, excellence, innovation, and mentorship within the transportation profession and ITE.
