The Pima Association of Governments has developed a new regional dynamic traffic assignment (DTA) to supplement the activity-based travel demand model (ABM)  and MOVES air quality modeling efforts. The DTA model allows for more detailed evaluation of regional traffic flows and traffic dynamics based on the travel behavior generated by the ABM, explicitly modeling driver behavior, vehicle interactions, and roadway geometry and infrastructure. We will share an overview of the model, our current evaluation procedures, and future plans for deployment of the model in support of PAG and regional activities.
