Call for Award Nominations

The Utah ITE Section is now accepting nominations to recognize individuals and projects that have made meaningful contributions to transportation systems, the profession, and Utah communities.
Members are encouraged to nominate deserving colleagues, teams, and partners whose work demonstrates leadership, innovation, and excellence in transportation.
Eligibility
Nominations are open to individuals and projects from all areas of the transportation profession, including—but not limited to—public sector, private sector, academic, consulting, contracting, and research organizations. Nominees do not need to be current Utah ITE members. If nominated for an award, the individual shall not have won it previously.

- Transportation Professional of the Year
- Fresh Face of Engineering
- Project of the Year
- (NEW!) Zero Fatalities Safety Award
- (NEW!) Lifetime Achievement Award
How to Nominate
To submit a nomination, please complete the online nomination form and provide the requested supporting information. The form includes eligibility criteria and award descriptions to assist with selecting the appropriate category.

The deadline for nominations is EOD - Monday, March 2nd.

Engineer of the Year
Recognizes an outstanding licensed engineer whose professional achievements have made a significant and lasting impact on transportation systems and Utah communities through excellence in engineering practice, leadership, and service.
Transportation Professional of the Year
Recognizes an outstanding transportation professional who is not a licensed engineer, but whose work as a planner, technician, researcher, or other support professional has resulted in significant contributions to the transportation profession and Utah communities.
Fresh Face of Engineering
Recognizes an emerging transportation professional who is giving momentum to the future of transportation through early career accomplishments, professional engagement, and contributions to Utah communities.
Eligible nominees must have earned at least a bachelor’s degree dated no earlier than four years prior to the nomination deadline.
Project of the Year
Recognizes a transportation-related project that demonstrates significant benefits to Utah communities and the transportation profession. Eligible projects may improve mobility, enhance safety, advance innovation, or demonstrate cost-effective solutions. Projects may relate to any mode of travel, and major transportation studies are considered eligible for this award.
NEW! Zero Fatalities Safety Award
Along with our Zero Fatalities partners, this award recognizes an individual or project that has demonstrated a strong commitment to advancing transportation safety and supporting the goal of zero fatalities through leadership, innovation, education, or other measurable safety outcomes.
NEW! Lifetime Achievement Award
Recognizes an individual whose career reflects sustained leadership, service, and significant contributions to the transportation profession and the Utah ITE community.
