As the President of the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) of the Arizona Chapter, my goal will be to enrich the experience that ITE has to offer to the engineering community by dedicating my time and taking on responsibilities. With my passion and interest in transportation, I plan on collaborating with board and committee members to plan and execute board tasks, being responsive to the feedback ITE members provide, and engaging in ITE activities. I will maximize the impact and exposure of chapter activities by optimizing internal and external communications. Prioritizing the aspects of the Arizona Section that members enjoy is what will make our experiences memorable and valuable. I intend to fulfill my duties as President and continue to make ITE a notable experience. I have been involved with ITE for six years and it would be an honor to bring my perspective and energy to this leadership role. On a personal level, I was born and raised here in Phoenix, Arizona. I completed my associate’s degree at Chandler Gilbert Community College and my bachelor’s degree at Arizona State University. During my free time, I enjoy baking, traveling, working out, and spending time with friends and family. My top vacation destinations are Italy, Greece, Switzerland and Portugal. I love trying new restaurants and local coffee shops – my favorite coffee shop is Peixoto in Chandler where they make their coffee syrups in house.

This year, the ITE Southern Arizona Chapter (SAITE) celebrates its 25th year! That means for 25 years I have been an active and enthusiastic member of SAITE. I have served on the SAITE board, and I have been the Recognitions Chair since 2007. In addition to recognizing each year the outstanding contributions of our members, I help the SAITE board administer the Hank Warner Scholarship, which is awarded to a University of Arizona student, planning lunch programs, identifying new officers, and even picking up the pizza!

I am a transportation geek, who enjoys meeting other transportation geeks and learning about their projects and all that is happening, transportation-wise, in Arizona. This is the reason I have remained highly involved in SAITE all these years.

In 2023 I was invited to run for Treasurer of the ITE Arizona Section, and I was taken aback when I was actually elected. I am now serving as Secretary of AZITE, I have been consistently impressed by the high caliber of leadership on the AZITE Board. Everyone brings so much dedication and talent to their roles, that I am both intimidated and inspired.

As Vice President of the Arizona Section, I will focus on ensuring that the programs and activities are relevant, engaging, have broad appeal, and convenient are to attend. I will continue to be curious about developments in the transportation profession, and will focus on effectively sharing knowledge and creating opportunities to learn.

Hello, I am Subhankar Dey, a Traffic EIT with HDR with over 5 years of experience in the traffic engineering field, and I am excited and honored to be nominated for the role of AZITE Treasurer for the year 2026. My involvement with ITE started with being a volunteer to student chapter at ASU and got more involved with AZITE from 2021 serving as the vice-chair and co-chair of the 'Membership and Sponsorship Committee'. I was involved with welcoming new members to AZITE section, bringing in sponsorship for the Arizona section, and published the Membership Directory every year. This year I helped bring in more than $10,000 of company sponsorships, which help fund AZITE events. As an officer of AZITE I aspire to continue the good work of past treasurers and maintain financial discipline throughout the year. My aim is to develop a budget that mirrors the key initiatives and values of the AZITE section leadership and its members. I have enjoyed my involvement with AZITE very much and hope to continue that as an officer of the AZITE board. I would be honored to have your vote and sincerely appreciate your thoughtful consideration.

Thank you for your consideration as the ITE Treasurer for this coming year. I’ve been fortunate enough to serve as Webmaster for the ITE Arizona Section over the past five years where I have managed section announcements, event registrations, job postings, web page design, virtual webinars, and email blasts. I have regularly attended the officer board meetings and have become familiar with the inner workings of ITE. I will leverage my experience working with the ITE website to continue improving Arizona chapter’s communications with its membership to foster a greater member experience.

Over the past year, ITE granted me the wonderful opportunity to participate in Leadership ITE where I completed an eight-month curriculum developing my communication skills with a cohort of tremendous individuals from across the ITE organization. I hope to have the opportunity to pay back this great education to ITE by serving on the Arizona board.

As treasurer, I would like to introduce providing Professional Development Hours (PDHs) to ITE Arizona’s technical sessions to recognize and reward the dedication of our membership. Thank you again for your consideration as ITE Arizona’s Treasurer.

As an active ITE member since 2022, I am looking forward to serving you all as your Treasurer for Arizona ITE in 2026. I first got involved with ITE that year when I took on the role as my employer’s (Parsons) Tempe office representative by regularly attending happy hours, technical luncheons, young professional events, and the annual state conference every spring. That has given me the opportunity to form relationships with our members, which include other consultants and potential clients. This year, I had the opportunity to serve on the planning committee for the state conference in Glendale. There I learned what type of outreach is served to all our members to give them the best possible networking experience over the two days.

If given the opportunity to be your treasurer, it would be my goal to continue forming relationships with our members to give them the best networking opportunities we can at not only the state conference every spring but at the happy hours, technical luncheons, and other social events that ITE Arizona plans. As a practicing Roadway/Traffic engineer who prides himself on detail orientation, I would be the right candidate for the Treasurer role.

As for my background, I have been a Roadway/Traffic Engineer at Parsons since 2019 and an active Professional Engineer in Arizona since 2022. I received my BS in Civil Engineering at Seattle University in 2016 and my MS in Civil, Environmental, and Sustainable Engineering from Arizona State University in 2019. Outside of work, you can find me at the pickleball courts, the golf course, or in my kitchen perfecting my home-cooked recipes. I also enjoy travelling, especially exploring new cities and places to eat.

I am honored to submit my statement of interest for the position of District Representative for the Arizona Section of ITE. My involvement with ITE began in 2017 when I joined the Arizona State University Student Chapter. Serving as chapter president in 2019 was a defining experience that not only strengthened my leadership skills but also deepened my commitment to ITE’s mission of advancing the transportation profession.

Since that time, I have remained consistently engaged with ITE, transitioning from the student chapter to the Arizona Section after entering the industry in 2021 with Y2K. I have attended section events regularly, presented at conferences, and remained active in supporting student and professional activities. In 2023, I took on the role of Student Liaison for the Arizona Section Board. In this role, I was able to leverage my student chapter experience to support all three student chapters across Arizona, helping to strengthen ties between the academic and professional communities.

My ITE involvement has also extended beyond Arizona. I have attended the last three Mountain District Annual Meetings and participate in the District Student and Young Member Committee meetings. Through these activities, I have built strong connections with colleagues across the Mountain District, which I believe will be valuable in representing Arizona’s needs and priorities at the District level. I am also volunteering to support student activities at the 2026 Mountain District Annual Meeting in Flagstaff, reflecting my commitment to student engagement and leadership development.

As District Representative, I would continue to advocate for Arizona Section priorities within the Mountain District, ensuring strong communication and integration between the two groups. I see this role as an opportunity to strengthen the visibility and voice of our Section while also continuing to support the next generation of transportation professionals emerging from our universities.

ITE has been an important and consistent part of my career development, and I look forward to the opportunity to serve in this role to further advance our Section and District.
