Dear Mountain District Members,

It was a privilege to see so many of you at the 2025 Mountain District Annual Meeting in Santa Fe. From engaging technical sessions and technical tours to meaningful conversations and new connections, the energy throughout the conference reflected the best of what ITE has to offer. A big thank you to the Local Arrangements Committee and the entire New Mexico Section for hosting such a memorable and well-executed meeting.

One of the highlights of the Annual Meeting was celebrating the outstanding individuals and projects recognized through our District awards. From innovative professional achievements to student excellence, this year’s winners reflect the depth of talent and dedication across the Mountain District. Congratulations again to Brigham Young University for winning the Student Traffic Bowl! We wish them the best of luck as they represent our District in the international competition in Orlando. We’re cheering on all of our Mountain District award winners as they move forward for consideration at the ITE International level.

As we look ahead, your Executive Committee remains committed to advancing the goals outlined in our strategic plan. Whether it’s establishing our vision statement, supporting student chapters, or building inclusive leadership pathways, our focus is on creating lasting value for all members of the Mountain District.

We’re also excited to welcome the 2026 Executive Committee. Congratulations again to our newly elected leaders and a big thank you to all the candidates for your continued dedication to ITE.

As always, if you have ideas, questions, or want to get involved, don’t hesitate to reach out. Let’s keep the momentum going.

See you out on the roads and trails,
Chris Sobie, PE, PTOE, PMP
President, ITE Mountain District
