Dear Mountain District Members,

As the snow melts and the days grow longer, we welcome the spirit of spring; a season filled with renewal and opportunities. This excitement is evident as we prepare for the 2025 ITE Mountain District Annual Meeting. I am thrilled to announce that the Technical Program for our Annual Meeting, set to take place in the beautiful city of Santa Fe, has now been released. You can view the exciting lineup of speakers and sessions here.

With the meeting just around the corner, I encourage everyone to register early to join us for what is to be an excellent conference. Additionally, booking your accommodation early is highly recommended. While we anticipate there are enough rooms at the El Dorado Hotel, our block is already filling up. Make sure to book your stay to secure a room at the venue.

This year, we're also seeking to strengthen our Mountain District Committees with fresh ideas and energetic volunteers. If you're looking to make an impact, consider joining our Advertising Committee by contacting Kordel Braley at [email protected], or lend your skills to the Service and Outreach Committee by reaching out to Jennifer Rosales at [email protected].

Furthermore, the deadline for our Mountain District Student Awards for Outstanding Undergraduate Student, Outstanding Graduate Student, and Outstanding Educator is approaching April 4th. This is a great opportunity to recognize the future leaders of our industry. More information can be found here.

Lastly, keep an eye out for the upcoming launch of our Mountain District Mentorship Program. This initiative was launched in 2022 designed to connect emerging talents with seasoned professionals to foster growth and learning within our District.

Let’s embrace this season of growth and continue to foster a community that thrives on collaboration, recognition, and advancement. I look forward to seeing many of you in Santa Fe!

Sincerely,

Chris Sobie
President, ITE Mountain District
