President's Update - November 2024

Hello Mountain District Members!
Continuing the theme from last month's newsletter, change is still in the air, with another important election year soon coming to a close, with impacts that will be felt at every level of government, directly affecting regulation, policy and funding throughout the transportation sector, among others, so each of us has an opportunity to make our voice heard at the ballot box.
Speaking of opportunity, the Mountain District is extremely fortunate to have eight very active District Committees filled with engaged volunteers that provide important support to our membership in the following areas: Advertising; Annual Meetings; Awards; Communications; Diversity, Equity & Inclusion; Membership; Service & Outreach; and Students & Younger Members. Several Committees are changing leadership in the coming year, so this is a call for those interested in serving as a Vice Chair, which is a great way to get involved and gain some leadership experience while sharing your ideas and ensuring continuity for the future. We are also looking for additional members to serve on each Committee, to ensure that every Section is represented and has a voice to share the great work being done at every level of ITE. If you're interested and want to know more, I encourage you to reach out to a member of the District Board or the Committee(s) you're interested in and take the opportunity to get involved; you won't regret it!
With the holiday season just around the corner, enjoy the opportunity to spend time with your friends and family to enjoy the season, reflect on the past year and look forward to what's to come with the new year.
