Yes! We offer scholarships!
For attending the 2024 ITE Mountain District Annual Conference that will happen June 19-21, 2024, at Big Sky, Montana, the DEI committee is offering a variety of scholarships to help members and students attend our annual conference. We remain committed to providing as much assistance as we can to keep registration fees from being a barrier to conference attendance.
The application deadline is March 10, 2024, and awarded by March 29, 2024, and we are offering scholarships (ranging from registration fee up to $1,000 – total award capped at $1,000). The number of scholarships awarded will depend on the funding available to the committee in a given year, as well as the number of applications received.
** Scholarship amount is based on reimbursement of actual eligible expenses.

Affordability Scholarship
Deadline: March 10, 2024
To help ensure broad participation at our 2024 ITE Mountain District Annual Conference, the ITE Mtn District DEI committee offers a limited number of Affordability Scholarships to professional ITE members. Affordability scholarships support those with limited resources who cannot attend the conference without assistance. These scholarships are intended to help diversify participation in the conference and ensure inclusivity in our community.
Who can apply?
ITE members. (These scholarships may be used to fund registration, travel, lodging, and food.)
● If needed, recipients must be willing to volunteer for one two-hour shift during the conference, assisting with such tasks as working at the registration or information desk, acting as a room monitor, or assisting with special events.
What can the scholarship cover?
● One full Conference registration
● Round-trip travel and ground transportation
● Lodging and meals for three nights
Young Professionals Scholarship
Deadline: March 10, 2024
The ITE Mtn District DEI committee’s goal for the use of this scholarship is that this is used directly to increase the representation of historically underserved young professional communities in their participation and attendance at Conference meetings. This Scholarship supports full conference participation for ten early-career professionals seeking to launch their careers in the field of transportation or to become more established ITE members and future leaders who are committed to advancing equity and inclusion in ITE.
Who can apply?
Early career professionals (less than 10 years in the field)
● Applicants must be able to attend the 2024 conference meeting (June 19-21, 2024). If needed, recipients must be willing to volunteer for one two-hour shift during the conference, assisting with such tasks as working at the registration or information desk, acting as a room monitor, or assisting with special events.
What does the scholarship help fund? (These scholarships may be used to fund, in priority order: registration, travel, lodging, and food.)
● One full Conference registration
● Round-trip travel and ground transportation
● Lodging and meals for three nights
Student Scholarship
Deadline: March 10, 2024
The ITE Mtn District DEI committee’s goal for the use of this scholarship is that this is used directly to increase representation from historically underserved student communities in their participation and attendance at Conference meetings. This Scholarship supports full conference participation for students of engineering or closely related fields seeking to become members of ITE and committed to advancing equity and inclusion within ITE.
Who can apply?
Current undergraduate or graduate students in Engineering, Transportation, or closely related fields.
● Applicants must be able to attend the 2024 conference meeting (June 19-21, 2024). If needed, recipients must be willing to volunteer for one two-hour shift during the conference, assisting with such tasks as working at the registration or information desk, acting as a room monitor, or assisting with special events.
What does the scholarship help fund? (These scholarships may be used to fund, in priority order: registration, travel, lodging, and food.)
● One full Conference registration
● Round-trip travel and ground transportation
● Lodging and meals for three nights
There are three awards available for the 2024 ITE Mountain District Annual Conference that will happen June 19-21, 2024, at Big Sky, Montana:
● Affordability Scholarship
● Young Professionals Scholarship
● Student Scholarship
Applications
Applicants for awards should submit the following by March 10, 2024, at 5 pm Arizona time; no late applications will be accepted:
· A cover letter that includes:
- Award for which you are applying (name and amount)
- Statement of financial need
- Expected benefits of attending the conference (citing specific sessions or workshops of interest)
· Resume
· Letter of reference from a person with knowledge of the applicant’s work, study, or involvement with ITE (sent directly to [email protected])
· Cost Estimate
· Essay (max 3 pages, 12 fonts, double spaced) that describes work, or a program of study done or completed by an applicant closely related to the ITE DEI values. Describe:
1. Type of work or program study.
2. Accomplished goals – what do you do and why? Relate it to ITE DEI.
3. Lessons learned- what have you learned and how has it impacted you and your community?
4. Future actions- Do you have a plan associated with work or a program of study, for the ITE community?
5. Details of what you can give back to the ITE community.

For the 2024 ITE Mountain District Annual Conference, applications must be submitted by March 10, 2024, by 5 pm Arizona time.
