Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, I’m grateful for You!

Mountain District Members and Friends,

What a wonderful time of year! I hope that this message finds you all still a little full of these holidays and all their great traditions, festivities, and tasty goodies.

I am so very grateful to have been able to spend this past year serving you as the President of the Mountain District. We have such good people in our industry, our community and it such a pleasure to be given the opportunity to interact with you.

On our way home to Las Vegas from Salt Lake City after Thanksgiving, my family and I stopped in southern Utah to harvest a Christmas Tree and we had time to swing by the Tuacahn Center for the Arts for “Christmas in the Canyon”. It was fun to look forward and envision our District membership gathered there in that spot enjoying time together. I hope that you’re looking forward to the meeting in St. George next year.

As this is my last message as your President I can’t think of a more appropriate message than THANK YOU! I am so very grateful for all of those who take time to encourage students and young professionals, for those who have supported others through ITE, who have been a friend to a newer member in a chapter or section. Thank you Committee Chairs, at the District level, Section level and Chapter level! Thank you to all the previous District leaders who laid the path for the successful launch of ITE’s newest District! Thank you for stepping up to serve on a committee in your section, for volunteering for a Local Arrangements Committee (LAC), for coordinating outreach to student chapters. Thank you for welcoming new members to your luncheons and sitting by them. Thank you for submitting articles for our District meeting, for showing up when you’re asked to, for taking the time to flip through the Summit and scroll through our newsletters. Thank you for paying your dues, for making ITE as valuable as it is, for carrying on the traditions of the past and adapting to the future. You really are what makes ITE so great, so THANK YOU!

I also stand in awe of the majesty of the world we have around us in the Mountain District. As I’ve been able to attend ITE meetings in NM, AZ, NV, UT, CO, ID, WY, and MT (not all this year) it is apparent that where we live and get to work is a special place where people from around the world travel to ascend new heights. I hope we’re all able to take some time as the year comes to a close to be grateful for what we each have around us.

Merry Christmas to all, may all your holiday celebrations be a reminder of good things to remember and others to look forward to.

See you in St. George!
