PRESENTATION SUMMARY:
Chris's presentation will focus on the role ATSPMs can play in running a large transportation agency, and describe the roadmap for how SPMs will continue to improve over the coming years.
Chris Cassani, Miovision
CHRIS CASSANI BIO:
Chris joined Miovision in September, 2021 after moving into the Tucson area from Boston, MA. Chris worked in local government for a dozen years, with a stint as a civil engineering consultant mixed in, too. Chris worked in the Mayor's Office in Quincy, MA, then as the City's Park Director, before becoming the City's Transportation Director in 2017. Chris oversaw a complete overhaul of the city's ITS infrastructure, moving from an environment of zero communications, mechanical and peg board (!) controllers, to ATC controllers, adaptive signal networks, video detection and cloud based TSP. Chris leveraged ATSPMs to improve traffic patterns, and also to constantly monitor the performance of the adaptive network. Chris lives in Oro Valley with his wife and 4 children.
