Team Gilbert has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated professional to fill the position of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Specialist.
The Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Specialist reports to the ITS Engineer/TOC Supervisor. The primary function of this position is to maintain the ITS fiber network, including overseeing ITS construction projects and maintaining the operation of the Town of Gilbert's ITS network infrastructure with items such as radios, switches, fiber, CCTV and associated equipment.
Ideal candidates for this position will possess the combination of technical, problem solving and interpersonal skills necessary to be successful in this important position. Responsibilities and duties associated with this position include maintaining a fiber optic network, inspecting construction at traffic signals, working with ITS devices and participating in maintaining a traffic signal computer system. They will be adept at building productive working relationships with other work groups and fellow team members to help facilitate activities involving the traffic operations center and its associated functions.

At Team Gilbert, we hire innovative, forward thinking problem-solvers who love what they do! In addition to possessing the ability to live out our core and functional values daily, candidates must possess the following requirements:
- Associates Degree or Two-Year Technical Certificate in Telecommunications or Electrical.
- 5 Years of experience in Electrical/Electronics, Construction and/or Radio Communications.
- 3 Years of experience in Fiber Optics and/or Telecommunications.
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.
- Work Zone Safety within 6 months of hire
- IMSA Fiber Optic Technician Level 2 as soon as possible based on the requirements set by IMSA at the time of hire or approved equal certification as determined by the hiring panel.
- IMSA Traffic Signal Level 3 when possible based on the requirements set by IMSA at the time of hire.
- Arizona Driver's License.
