OVERALL JOB OBJECTIVE: Under general direction of the Deputy Director of Transportation and Mobility, provide leadership and manage the transportation planning of the city’s multimodal transportation system. This includes taking a department-wide perspective and working cooperatively with other division managers to incorporate planning through the lifecycle of projects and assets from planning, building, to operating and maintaining the system. The transportation planning manager also oversees regional and local transportation policy efforts. This position serves as an advisor to the Transportation and Mobility Department Director and Deputy Director and supports City Council, city advisory boards and city staff, functions as a liaison with other city departments and is a member of the Transportation and Mobility management team emphasizing effective communications, continuous improvement, problem-solving orientation, service to customers, and accountability.
