About the Position
Do you enjoy seeing a project from inception to construction? Do you enjoy identifying projects and using your critical thinking skills to take an organization to the next level? The Assistant Division Manager for Project Delivery will work closely with leaders throughout the Maricopa Department of Transportation (MCDOT) to deliver the Transportation Improvement Program (TIP). Project management will be key to keeping on budget and on time. You will be making an impact on our community's roadways all across the County! POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

We recognize your time is valuable, so please apply if you meet the following required qualifications.
 
Education 

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field 

 
Experience 

  • Six (6) years of related professional engineering experience including two (2) years in a supervisory capacity

 
Other Requirements 

  • Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Arizona driver’s license by the time of hire
  • Registration as a Civil Engineer, Structural Engineer or a closely related field by the Arizona State Board of Technical Registration, OR by the technical board of another state, with the ability to obtain Arizona Registration within six (6) months of employment

 
Our Preferred Candidate has

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification

  • Provides leadership, direction, and guidance in technical strategies and procedures 
  • Provides a high level of critical thinking, communication, and organizational skills
  • Drives analytical and operational project support from inception to completion, including developing scopes, evaluating progress to ensure that all project goals and timelines are achieved
  • Directs and manages TIP delivery continually
  • Present facts clearly and concisely to explain, persuade, negotiate and defend positions taken by the department during the design processes
  • Develops strategies to improve processes and operations for the department
  • Works collaboratively with other jurisdictions on shared projects
  • Creates a unified team environment to ensure on-time and budget compliant project delivery


Working Conditions 
Occasional travel and field work may be required.
