About the Position
We seek an innovative and effective Transportation Systems Management Division Manager to work closely with leaders throughout Maricopa County to operate the transportation system. You will be managing travel demands through a set of integrated strategies that increase system reliability, improve public safety and security, reduce road user traffic delays, and improve traveler's access to information. As a Division Manager, this position works under limited supervision and works collaboratively with the Director and other Transportation Division Managers.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
|

We recognize your time is valuable, so please apply if you meet the following required qualifications. Education
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field
Experience
- Six (6) years of engineering including two (2) years of experience in a lead or supervisory capacity
Other Requirements
- Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Arizona driver’s license by the time of hire
- Registration as a Civil Engineer, Structural Engineer or a closely related field by the Arizona State Board of Technical Registration, OR by the technical board of another state, with the ability to obtain Arizona Registration within six (6) months of employment
Our Preferred Candidate has
- Master’s degree in Engineering, Public Administration or Business Management is desirable

- Provides leadership, direction, and guidance in technical strategies and procedures
- Supervises and evaluates the work of engineers and specialists; effectively recommends personnel actions related to selection, disciplinary procedures, performance, leaves of absence
- Provides a high level of critical thinking, communication, and organizational skills
- Present facts clearly and concisely to explain, persuade, negotiate and defend positions taken by the department in operating the transportation system
- Develops strategies to improve processes and operations for the department
- Works collaboratively with other jurisdictions on shared projects
- Supports the strategic vision of the department
Working Conditions Occasional travel and field work may be required.
