Graduate Engineer III - Traffic

Become a member of our transportation team providing traffic engineering support on a wide range of public infrastructure, renewable energy, and residential and commercial land development projects. 

Westwood is looking for a Traffic Engineering EIT to join our team in Las Vegas, Nevada. Our ideal candidate will have 2+ years of traffic engineering experience supporting diverse projects and clients. Candidates must have a willingness to perform a variety of traffic engineering tasks supporting various projects and project managers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Work as a key member of a traffic engineering team under the direction of a Project Engineer/Manager. Job duties may include, but are not limited to:

·         Research and evaluation of data

·         Conduct field reviews and other assessments

·         Prepare detailed engineering calculations

·         Assist with the creation and submission of technical reports, exhibits, and presentations

·         Assist in the preparation of traffic engineering design plans using AutoDesk Civil3D

·         Assist in the preparation of work zone traffic control plans

·         Coordinate with internal team members, clients, government entities, and subconsultants

·         Manage task assignments for budget and schedule adherence

Required Skills:

·         Outgoing, friendly, approachable

·         Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills

·         Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet project deadlines

·         Detail-oriented with an ability to contribute to a positive work environment

·         Ability to work independently and as part of a team

·         Proficient in AutoDesk Civil3D, Highway Capacity Software, Synchro/SimTraffic, and Microsoft Office applications

·         Able to follow directions and guidelines for the firm’s policies, practices, and procedures

Qualifications:

·         2+ years of relevant traffic engineering experience

·         BS in Civil Engineering from ABET accredited university

·         EIT certification
