Position Summary 

The Sales Engineer (SE) is an industry expert that drives software growth by developing technical and operational relationships with customers in support of their adoption of the Miovision products. 

As a technical industry expert, the SE integrates into the daily operation of the agency to support complex proof of concepts and ongoing initiatives to maximize product output and value.  The SE ensures continuous value and product adoption that ultimately drives intersection network and software growth.

Key Accountabilities 

Technical consultancy

The SE is responsible for learning and understanding the current technical capabilities/systems/tools within the customer ecosystem, and identifying the gaps that exist between the current state and the customer's desired state. This creates a plan of action/recommendations for the agency to successfully move from current state to desired outcome state with support and input from Miovision and Miovision's partners.

Complex integrations/solution design

The SE would support solution design and the technical implementation of current desired integrations as set in the customer success plan. As the account evolves, the SE would continuously build on possible integration opportunities and scope out any future integrations with the Miovision products and 3rd party systems. 

Product adoption and utilization

Intersection and Software growth come from continuous product use and network ROI. Many agencies are migrating from traditional models to an on-demand software solution requiring advanced change management within the agency.   The SE will monitor user adoption and product utilization and create targeted programs to increase engagement and support the agency's change management process. Continuously building on the overall customer success plan to fully understand customer problem->solution matrix and ensuring ROI, combined with product utilization will allow for an in-depth view into customer operations to target more value. 

Complex issue resolution and customer advocacy

The SE would support the resolution of any complex product issue resulting in prevention of purchase or delayed renewals. The SE will always act as a customer advocate to ensure an effortless experience in resolving these challenges. The SE would build a strong relationship between the Miovision product and support teams to ensure continuous resolution of ongoing operational issues as well as product deficiencies that may come up. 

Customer story generation

Customer success plans are a recipe for delivering on potential product value as intended. Building success within the key accounts will create many product advocates and champions that can accelerate the creation of case studies and references. These individuals can then be leveraged for webinars and further our account-based marketing program. 

Support software renewal and upselling activities

Being a trusted advisor of the accounts both technically and financially, the SE  can support the intersection of growth initiatives as well as help secure the renewal at the appropriate timing.  Working with government agencies, timing is very important, and having this operational insight to the agency can clarify timing to the sales team. The main output is to support and secure the renewal and build intersection hardware and/or Software subscription opportunities for further intersection growth.

Skills/Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or recognized equivalency or achievement of recognized professional level
  • 5+ years of technical experience; must understand network products
  • Ability to travel internationally, providing on-site consulting work to clients
  • Ability to manage multiple projects utilizing strong planning and organizational skills
  • Experience with general consulting skills that include team facilitation, business case development, strong business analysis skills, process mapping and process redesign
  • Systems implementation skills: requirements/process analysis, conceptual and detailed design, configuration, testing, training, change management and support
  • Analytical nature with the ability to solve complex business issues
  • Basic understanding of product development and engineering processes.
