DESCRIPTION

This opportunity is for a traffic engineering professional with some combination of traffic engineering, signal design, maintenance of traffic, ITS, transportation planning, traffic simulation/modeling. The position involves leading traffic and transportation planning and engineering tasks, mentoring lower level staff, and supporting marketing efforts under supervision by a senior transportation engineer. Candidates for this position should have interest and project experience in some of the following areas:

  • Traffic signal design
  • Signing & striping design
  • Traffic signal timing
  • Capacity & safety analysis
  • Traffic impact analysis
  • Traffic modeling using Synchro/Simtraffic, Vissim, and/or Transmodeler
  • Maintenance of Traffic (MOT)/Temporary Traffic Control (TTC) design
  • Intelligent transportation systems (ITS)
  • Bicycle, pedestrian, and multi-modal planning and design
  • Corridor and area-wide planning

 

MINIMUM PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 8 years of engineering/planning experience
  • Colorado PE license or AICP Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil or Transportation Engineering, or Related Experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record required
  • Desire to create and be part of a superb team

 

PREFERRED PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Master’s degree in Traffic or Transportation Engineering or Transportation Planning
  • Projectwise, AutoCAD and/or Microstation experience
  • Experience using Synchro/Simtraffic, Vissim, TransModeler, TransCAD, HCS, AutoTurn, SignCAD and Bluebeam
  • Experience using Adobe InDesign or Illustrator

 

COMPENSATION

The salary range for this position is $80,000-$121,000.   This will be dependent on the experience and expertise of the incoming candidate. This role is also eligible for a discretionary bonus based upon corporate and individual performance.
